need arc help

Hello,

 

I am new to the web site. What a great wealth of information here. The site has helped me numerous times in the short time since I have joined. I am trying to find out how to change the arc moves to an "r" instead of i,j,k.

I have searched the site and have not found the exact way to change it.

 

I am using mpmaster for mastercam x.

 

Any help would greatly be appreciated.

In the control def under arc, set the arc output to radius for the desired planes.

you need to edit the mpmaster post.

 

arcoutput$ : 0 #0 = IJK, 1 = R no sign, 2 = R signed neg. over 180

 

change it to 1.

Search for the parc section of the post and read there. It looks like you can either remove asterisks or a # sign to get what you are looking for.

In V9 or earlier you have to edit your post

per shazzam's reply.

In X you edit the Control Defintion .

Look on the arcs page. Be sure to do it through

Settings/Machine Def at the top of the page.

If you do it through Edit in the Operations

Manger, it only changes that MCX file.

Thanks for the help. I had to use the # sign in the post and then it was forced to use "r". The control def. was already set to radius.

 

One other question. When I have a chain around a surface and I'm trying to delete only a partial chain I can't select it. I only get a full chain or it selects the surface. Anyone have any hints so I don't have to keep deleting the surfaces to get at the individual chains.

select the firs element of your chain then the last element you want to keep.. then hit delete

I've tried everything I can think of but it just keeps selecting the surfaces instead of the curve.

on your tool bar you have the choice of "all" or "only" select only and that will open up a sub menu to choose from.
