hanccast,

To select wireframe only at a certain depth.

1. Set your depth for Z on your bottom toolbar to the depth of the geometry you wish to select.

2. Select your toolpath type

3. When your chaining dialog box appears make sure the radial button for c-plane is selected

4. Select window for your chaining option and window all of your geometry. Only geometry that is at the depth you set your Z value to on the bottom toolbar will be selected

It should unless you have over lapping chains. Are Make sure you do not have an mask on in your chaining options either. You have many option in the chaining manager like, color, line type, level, and many many more and if any of them are on and you are trying to pick chains it will give you a fit if that chain fits the same criteria.

when I window select an area it asks me to select a start point and then it asks to pick the first chain. It doesn't select the chains automatically.

hancast,

MC is giving you control over the situation. Where do you want to start looking for chains? What chain do you want first?

There are options for window chaining (click the "!" in the chain manager) where you may be able to eliminate these prompts. Personally, I'd rather have the control then let MC figure it out and not be what I want. wink.gif
