Sure would be nice to have a EASILY accessible section for program notes and whatnot. File > Properties is not that great nor handy. Art gets it's own tab, which I'll bet 99.5% of folks don't use.

Have you tried using the group comment? For the most part it does everything I need it to.

Yeah, It would be even nicer to have note fields so you can link them to the set-up sheets. Then you can put all the info in the MC file and when you do a set-up sheet all the info you want would be there.

By group comment do you mean group > rename?

 

creating notes on a level with drafting has many shortfalls.

 

you have to turn the level on to see them

you have to go back to the view you drew them in.

you have to zoom in/out to see them

 

 

all which require you to lose what your looking at in the part and re-orient your screen to check or write some notes. Hey, maybe I could create a viewsheet just for notes hmmmmm.

would it be out of the question to be able to capture a movie clip in backplot or verify? That would keep guys on the floor alot more....most of the time I am programming the same time they are running.

I use a manual entry operation for setup info. With manual entry, you can set your defaults so that common used info is already there, but there is much room for improvment.

 

The note tab looks good, but I would rather see this in the operations tree.

Chris, if you don't need the ART tab, you can rename art.ft in the chooks folder to art.ft_

Kyle, I use Vericut capture to make AVI movies for the set-up guys. Use the TechSmith codec vs the default vericut codec. File size will be about 1/10 with TechSmith. http://www.techsmith.com/download/codecs.asp

 

Also, If you use Caimax machsim there is a button to create an exe of the specific job being verified that can be run on any pc.
