how to transform toolpath twice or three time

Hi, guys,

there are two vises on my vertical CNC table, in each vise I will machine 5 same parts,so I use transform toolpath, my question is that I'd like make the 5 same parts in the second vise, how to ransform the tooppath?

You can do the transform toolpath of your part making 5 parts then do a transform toolpath of the original toolpath AND the transform toolpath you just made and copy it up to the second vise.

try translate ,op type, tool plane, tool plane origin only, and adjust the work offset numbering to your liking. also click on create new ops and geom. Set x and y spacing to 0.

I just placed a file called transform.mcx in the X2 folder on the FTP that should show you how to do this

If you go to the top of this page you can down load a multiple offset post its called MPSUBREP. It gives you as many work offsets as you want and subprograms. After installing, just go to (Misc values) and enter ifo in there. Even if you don't use it now. It will come handy later...

What I suggested would give you the same ops at a different work offset in the machine. (One work offset for each vice) I think you could translate it 5 times for the first vice and then do it again changing only the work offset.

 

Best bet would be to check John's file out first.

When people say that there is a file on the ftp, are they talking about an ftp related to this site? I wanted to look at that file myself but dont know how to get there.

what if the vise is rotated 180 deg and you had 10 cutters and want them to run sequentially

Elmo, you could use the rotate with work offset instead.

it's the transform2.mcx

 

this should do what you want it to do

 

2x 5 pices per vises so 10 pices total

I still have question about the file you upload, why did not you chose "coordinate method" instead of "tool plane method" in the first transform? and why did not transform both controur and pocket in the transform? is there any other problem?

i just add the last transform to re-transform the john's toolpath

 

i don't really take care of the method he used

 

you can

1 draw 1 pices

2 transform 5x for first vise

3 re-transform the transform tool path to create the other 5 pices on the second vise

4 use 1 work offset for the 5 first and another for the 5other one . so don't matter vhere you put the vise . the toolpath will be at the right place !!
