Haas Post?

What post should I be using with our Haas VF1. I'm using Mastercam X2 MR2 SP1.

How about the generic HAAS that comes with MAstercam, it is very very close out of the box

I been using a Ver 9 Haas post updated a couple of times for my Mini Mill. I also use a tweeked version of MPMaster for my Sharp with a Fanuc 0iMc on it. Works fine.

I tried the Haas post and it worked, but I had to edit some values that our control didn't like.

 

Now our dealer has us using MPMaster but were still running into a few snags. I was just making sure we were on the right track.

 

I didn't relize the post would need so much tweaking to work right.

Kunfuzed- First the post was giving an A0 value which our control did not like. We got rid of that.

 

This morning I wrote a simple program to drill and tap 4 holes, and before the tapping cycle it has a G95 which causes an error. The G95 is not a G-code listed in the Haas manual.

 

I'm fairly new to MasterCam and learning G-Code as I go.

These are all standard options that you may or may not have for your machine. I can't tell you where to switch them all, but most of these can be fixed by setting up your control definition correctly. Basically make it match the capabilities of your machine.

 

I'd like to be more help, but I'm no expert. This forum is going to be one of your greatest tools!

BTW we have Hass VF3 and VF6 and one tool room mill

Try the settings/parameters page at the Haas to turn features on and off. Our vf3's and vf4's read A0. no problem, even though there is no rotary axis on the machine. MPMASTER blows away the generic Haas post, but both work fine. I turn the A axis off in Mastercam.
