How do I transfer a program...?

I need to receive/save a program from the machine to the Mastercam system. Can somebody PLEASE help me!?!?!?!?!?

What type of machine, type of controller and how are they linked ie.... ethernet, rs232, or memory device?

Unless you have V9 and use a reverse post you are out of luck.

Let's try to be clear on what exactly you are trying to do, ok?

 

You have a program in the machine, correct?

 

You're looking to save this back, correct?

 

Are you looking to just save what is now a proven program or are you looking to take the gcode back into to Mastercam for some modifications?

It works in X. All your going to get is a back-up of the NC code, which is probably what your after and all you need. You don't have to save the NC code to the Mastercam system either, you can store it anywhere you like, just as you would with any other type of file. (Reverse post? Interesting.) Select receive in the mastercam editor, pick a location. As for how your machine tool is set-up, can't say much, but there has to be a send command somewhere. If you used mastercam to send it, your 90% of the way there. Too many variables here, you'll need to be more specific.

It is a proven program & the machine it's on is an Okuma LB15. No mods needed.

Are you using the cimco editor to download to the machine?

:have you had a working com line to it before

:if not you will need to make an rs232 wire we can get you a diagram

:you will also need to set the parameters on the control and software to match

what control is in this LB15M you may be able to put it on a floppy.

you can also save it in BB0: temperarely
