Motherboard Brand and MCAM Compatibility

G'day

I know many here prefer and use Dell PCs. However, I have a question. Are Asus or Gigabite mobos compatible with Mastercam? Apart from Dell. What would be your second choice.

Asus or Gigabyte would be the first choice. DFI or MSI next. Try stay with an Intel chipset board, but any new board will MC fine.

I don't "really" think the mobo maker should be a big deal as long as the Intel CPU's are suported

I just saw mastercam run on brand new mac.

Wow! 1st impression is it is the fastest I have never seen it faster.

I loaded the v9 sample that looks like binoculars. I ran the verify. turbo,fast forward.

 

it verified in about 15 seconds.

most computers that i have used have never reached the end. I usually stop when I get tired of waiting.

 

definitly worth a look.

MAC, while you can get it to run is unsupported.

 

If anyone chooses to go that route, from a TECH standpoint they may well themselves on their own if they have issues.

Some of the guys at CNC Software run it on a Mac. Just make sure you get a full install of XP or Vista and it runs flawlessly...

 

Even though the hardware is Mac, you'll be running Windows® software. Support shouldn't be an issue.

I run a Dell but it would NOT be my first choice. I would much rather have a custom built on an Asus MoBo. Almost any brand name mobo is better than Dell. Dell = Wal Mart of computers. The only reason I use a Dell is because that's what my boss bought.

That's the thing. Try it on a brand new PC (properly built) and you'll see similar results. I'd be curious to see the benchmark test run on that Mac.

I know there are Dell computers and "DELL" computers. It depends on how deep your pocket is. I also would like a new Mac but I have no use for it. I prefer to custom build my own and keep adding on and upgrading it.
