Extruding Solids

I am using Mastercam to design a CO2 car. I drew the top profile spline, and extruded that cut successfully. I generated and mirrored a spline to cut the sides of the stock. When I chain these two splines to extrude, I get an error message that says: "Operation requires planar chain set". So I searched the Mcam help file, to no avail, and tried creating it as a lofted surface, but that results in an error message as well. How can I solve this?

The geometry has to be FLAT to extrude it.

Try to project the spline to a plane.

That message means that the spline (or contour) is not on a flat plane.

How do I post the files on the forum? Or do I need to email them to the interested parties, and if so, can I use the forum email, or do I need to use a different email program (outlook)?

probably easier to email it direct than post on forum, IMO. Sometimes i have problems uploading to forum.

DeAnna... check your mail... I deleted dups.. and projected the geometry to a flat plane... then it extruded fine.

 

Something must have had a different z height in the spline..

I did the same thing and sent it on the 18th. Haven't heard any replies.
