Tin means the product package. ( a bit European I suppose....)

Treat Design/Mill as 1 Mastercam. You draw lines, circles, surfaces, solids, edit etc, that happens in the Design module, when you select a machine you enter into Mill module.Easy!

Have fun exploring MC, it is similar to Surfcam just needs to know where is what.

Oke

Mike,

Welcome, my suggestion would be to contact your reseller. A basic class would do you wonders for getting a grasp on the Mastercam interface and how many features are actually supposed to work.

Good luck and continued learning

mtnmike :

Your reseller has awesome, yet expensive classes to learn all that Mastercam has to offer.

If you don't have the bucks, streaming teacher or eapprentice might be to your liking.

Alot cheaper, but not quite as good as the intermediate to expert classes available from your reseller.

Here is a link to a nice CD tutorial---- Tips for Manufacturing

JP knows what he is talking about..so listen.........!

If you have any problems or questions, you know where we are......Aside from that you could always contact your local "American Honkeytonk Bar Association", if you know what I mean.

Welcome to the forum and good luck with your seat of Mastercam.

I have been using Mastercam since version 6 and I am very happy with it......I CAN'T WAIT FOR X4!!!

Welcome Mike smile.gif alot of knowledge available here.

The question mark ? on the various toolbars and pages throughout Mastercam are a very useful self help tool. Whereever you are in the software when you click a ? will open Mastercam Help for that topic. Very Cool cool.gif

Yeah Jay nice to see you over here instead of always being on CNC Zone tongue.gif

Thanks all , but how do you think some of you got here. you found me on the Zone and said we need to get out of the Twilight Zone and see what is this Emastercam.com Zone jay speaks of.

I check this board every day. we have the best people here handling all the questions. not like the beginning when there was just a few of us answering all the questions.

this is still the best place on the Net to find answers for everything about what we do NOT just MC.

While you're there, don't forget to click the "Field Definitions" tab. It will tell you what each setting does.

Myself I don't go to the Ad Zone. It's too darn annoying every two posts to see a freaking ad. I think I've been in there like 10 times ever. Just too annoying.

Welcome mtnmike. I hope you find this place as helpful as as most of us do. cheers.gif
