Is there anyway (legally) to use mastercam at home short of taking the computer home?

 

I use SOlidworks and they allow you to install it on a home computer with a special licence number they give you. I'm wondering if Mastercam does the same.

If you have a regular hasp all that would be involved is downloading off the mc website and bringing the hasp home. If it's a net hasp it's a little more tricky but I know it's possible.

You could also use remote desktop and connect from home. But many variables apply as to the type of functions and speed that you will have.

This is exactly why I use a regular hasp key. Not the net key. You can take it wherever you have Mastercam loaded on the computer. I also take a copy of my config files and such so that the computer at home is same as at work. Only difference at home is that the files are kept in different places. On the network at work and off of a USB data key at home.

with hi-speed access i can run MC on my work computer from any computer on the internet,the files stay where they should be and i can even access and transfer files on the network

I run GoTo MyPc as well works great. Very minor graphics or speed issues, runs dual monitors. I dont ever forget thumb drives or SIM.
