X3 Question

I have been using peel mill since X2 and now in X3 it is acting funny. I program it to a certain depth and in back plot it shows it going deeper then was programmed. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Does your break through option is used?

check your "Tip Comp" setting

X3 defaults to "Center" and

it should be set to "Tip"

On peel mill there is no option for tip comp. That is what I thought it was when I first saw that. I program the same tool path in x2 and it works fine. It looks like a bug in X3 or something. When I watch the Z value during back plot it shows right, but when I watch it on the screen it shows to deep.

Have you posted it in X2 and X3 and compared code? Might just be a graphical error and not a code error.

Are you using the microlift? If so make sure you do not have a negative number.

I have posted it in both X2 and X3 and the code is right on both. It is a graphical error, but when you are programming you do not want to have graphical errors. I will have to decide if it is graphics or not. That is scary when you are cutting on very expensive parts.

 

Can some body do a quick peel mill tool path on X3 and see if it happens to you. We have to know if it is a bug. Just see if the depth shows correctly or not.

Thats some scary stuff right there. Thats the joy of having MasterCam X3. Here lately you never know what to trust and what not too. X3 was a HUGE waste of time and money.
