looks like this was asked a good while ago by someone else. i'm going to try again.

is there a way to lock a layer or even better an entity so it is present in the graphics view, but is unaffected by transforms, etc without using the masks all / only?

thanks

k

i've been called out on that before. it's a quote from 'the third man.'

i know it is inaccurate, although i thought and have heard germany, not austria. i still like the quote and the movie, but maybe i'll retire it given this is the second time i've had to state my position of entertainment before truth - in regard to the quote, of course.

i'm out of characters on the signature. i shoehorned it in with a few edits (500 vs five hundred, etc). how 'bout this:

In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Da Vinci and the Renaissance. In Switzerland, they had 500 years of democracy and peace — what did that produce? SWISS CHEESE.

of course, i suppose someone will chime in shortly and tell me that actually came from wisconsin. oh well, can't please everyone.

Other software has this feature. In those softwares, you can make a level visible, invisible, and visible, but not selectable. The terminology varies, of course.

I would like to see this also. It's very handy. In Gibbs, anything that was visible, but not selectable, turned grey. That was fine for Gibbs since you didn't have different colors of geometry. In MC, I'd like to see the original colors.
