remove cycles from dropdown in drill parameters

Hi All,

 

Our shop is using X3. I was just curious if one could eliminate unused cycles from the dropdown menu in the drilling page. We use only like 4 of them, and though it's not THAT big of a deal, it would be nice to clean up the menu.

 

I've gone through the control def, and put double quotes in the appropriate fields so now they say "Cycle not used", but I would like to get rid of them altogether. Any ideas how? Thanks.

That's a good question. I emailed QC@mastercam about this.

I'm pretty sure you CAN't get rid of them. Last I remember they were just blank in the list, but the "Cycle not used" was added to help with the confusion on why the list had so much blank whitespace in the drop down. I'll follow-up on this but I'm pretty sure there is no way to remove them completely from the drop down.

and while your at it how about adding 10 more miscellaneous integers and 10 more reals. ten is not enough i'm out of both.

Same here.

 

I've used all my mi's and mr's too.

 

I'm going to have to move some of them (used for custom drill cycles) to the drill parameter page to free up some room on my mi & mr page.

If you using mi/mr as switches/flags they more than likely can be moved to canned text calls with a moderate amount of editing.

Another thing you can do is make groups of mi & mr variables that allow you to expand them. 1-10 can be one group, 11-20 a second group and so forth. The limits of what you can do it really limited to how much work you want to put into it.
