Windows 7 and X4 Mouse Compatibility

Just installed Windows 7 32bit and X4. Microsoft mouse.

 

Now, the scroll wheel zooms OUT but not in, and no spin when holding the wheel down.

 

My guess is the Intellipoint 7 drivers?

 

This hardware combo worked fine in XP...

 

Any guesses?

I haven't had any problems with Win7/X4 compatibility.

I never use the drivers that come with any of the mouses I buy. To me they are just bloatware. I guess you need them if you are using a mouse with 5-7 buttons though.

The input device software I use is for my Space Pilot Pro.

It has a few issues but nothing major.

I use Logitech as they even talk about supporting and what drivers to use for Windows 7. my MX resolution works great with X4.

Along with my space unit. I can try later a Microsoft mouse if I must.

Uninstalled the Microsoft drivers and got the Spin back, but the Zoom was still whacked!

 

Went home at lunchtime and got my Logitech, Everything works now!

I have the exact same issue with my Microsoft 6000v2 mouse and win7 64. The wheel only zooms OUT. Tried several different drivers, all the same.

 

I submitted this to qc and I suggest you do the same to build the case. [email protected]

In your windows "mouse properties" set your mouse to the "Arc Mouse".

 

This has worked for me. I had the same problem on Vista and the Windows 7.

I looked in every page of mouse properties and don't see anything saying "Arc". ? What am I missing?

Do you have the Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 6000 drivers installed? If so then under Mouse properties you should have a drop down for "connected device", choose "Arc Mouse",

I had the same problem with a MS mouse in X3 & 4 on Win7 x64 and never figured it out. I bought a Logitech Reolution MX and it cured that but created another one in Catia that was much easier to fix. Love the MX mouse.

I like windows 7 in general. Lots of cool little shortcuts and whatnot. mcx seems to run just fine.

When I installed the new drivers for the Microsoft mouse and then set it as an arc mouse, it fixed my scrolling/zoom issues in Mastercam.

Is there a function I can select for the wheel button that will get it to do the dynamic rotation in MC?

Figured it out - It's "Middle Click"

 

But now it does not zoom/unzoom about the location of the cursor . . .

 

Any suggestions?

using a m705 logitech mouse with windows 7 64-bit and Logitech SetPoint Software. When Scrolling in and out with the mouse wheel it only zooms out for me as well. This does not happen on my vista 64-bit laptop and my xp desktop.

I'm using a really old logitech mouse for now with no fancy stuff and that seems to be working.

i was having zoom problems too X4 X5

go into setpoint settings and make sure "smooth scrolling" is unchecked

this fixed it right up for me

When I dimension in X4 in Windows 7 I get pointer trails on the screen I have to clear colours to get rid of the trails. Is there a setting to illiminate the pointer trails
