X4 MU1 is it worth installing?

I have not installed the MU1 for X4, I have been seeing a lot of posts about verify problems as well as other issues. So I would like your opinions please.

It seems like the only major issue is the Verify one, and there is no way to tell if it's going to affect you unless you install MU1. I had the problem, but a driver update fixed it. MU1 is MUCH more stable.

but we are very busy, lots of new prototypes, and I dont have the time for new issues. At least I am aware of the current ones, and I know the workarounds. As for me x4 has been pretty stable as far as crashing goes, crashed only three times total, over many months. But finding the workarounds was time cunsuming for me. I'd rather not install more issues. I'd rather wait till all "known" issues are resolved.

Ya think any of us do?? I dont have to to unlock, de-comment and regen hundreds of HST toolpaths daily either. Thats why I installed it and voila, no more locked ops....yeeehaaww. That alone was worth it to me.

I haven't had the black verify like some, just a little drifting from the space pilot but even it is cleared up now.

Those are the silliest questions asked on this board. Benefits of a new release/update have ALWAYS outweighed potential new problems, at least so far

Every PC in our shop has been running X4-MU1 (beta) for months. I very much prefer X4-MU1 over X4.

 

Save yourself some aggravation...

 

1. Make a backup copy of your entire X4 folder.

 

2. Uninstall every older MC version including X4

 

3. Clean the registry

 

4. Install X4 & X4MU1 only

 

5. Don't Migrate anything !

Some of the real gurus may have better advice for you but my "poser guru" technique would be deleting anything that says "CNC Software".

 

Of course I don't have to stress the importance of backing up the entire registry before you change anything, right ?

I installed MU1 for X4 after reading about the verify problem, but manually created a restore point with windows XP before doing so.

 

I got the verify problem of all black stock and tool, like the surfaces are inside out.

 

Tried to tweak the graphics card but gave up and

used the restore point the next day.

 

I rely heavily on Verify and hope a fix is discovered soon.

For the most part, I can overlook the problems with verify aince i use Vericut 7.0.0 on all programs ...
