X4 MU1 dialog box problem

I am using a dual monitor -- Samsung SyncMaster 2333, with my left screen as my primary work screen ...

 

In X4, and earlier versions, I would drag my dialog boxes to the right side of the left monitor and they would re-open in the last location it was used ... this included the prompts, ribbon bar and level manager ...

 

In X4 MU1, they return to the far left of the monitor, no matter where I last position them ...

 

Question ... Is there a setting in Mastercam to make them open in the previous location? I have a setting in my NVIDA nView Desktop Manager for repositioning at "no repositing" ... if I used "move to application display" then I can use the right screen for the Operation Manager or Level Manager ...

 

Anyone else with this problem and know how to fix it?

Yup and nope.

 

I thought it was an nvidia driver issue.

But then again I havent updated my driver in a few months.

 

How do you turn the eye candy off.

Like the fading when dragging a window and the

goofy trailing when minimizing?

I'm having some odd issues also, everytime I open x4 MU1 the operations manager is detached and about half it's size. Not a show stopper, just annoying.

 

I'm not sure if I have the latest drivers for the Quadro 4600 and NEC 24" monitor.

Right click My Computer

Properties

Advanced

Performance/Settings

Click the Adjust for Best Performance button..

 

IMO this is a manditory setting for any

Mastercam computer doing heavy duty work

If your windows aren't staying where you put them, there is a setting in the Mastercam Control Applet under "reset". Make sure dialog positions are set to "do not reset" and see if that helps.

like when I import a tool path the winsow minimizes by trailing to a small bar on the left of the monitor then goes back up trailing.

 

open widows go transparent while ya move them,etc??

The only thing I've changed in the parameters is to disable the splash screen, this makes Mastercam boot much quicker.

This is so far the best setting, for me.

Try the monitor you want your dialog boxes on and

leave center in display unchecked if you haven't tried this already

.

I am using two monitors ... left is Mastercam work monitor and right is where I keep the Level Manager and the Operation Manager ...

 

I I do the above, both manaagers opens on the left monitor which I don't want ...

 

I just want X4 MU1 handle the dialog boxes the same way as X4, X3 and X2 ...

Dialog boxes remember their previous position by storing that info in the Windows registry. Makes sure you have authority to write to the registry. On systems like Vista and Windows 7, this may not be the default.

Is there no solution to my annoying situation?

 

My Operation Manager is on the far left screen, and when I double-click on "parameters", dialog box ALWAYS opens on the far right screen no matter where I moved it ... a lot of head movement.

Nope, I have pulled out enuf hairs trying every

combination of ideas. It just doesn't play well

with X4.
