nesting

For those who use nesting. Is it possible to nest surfaces and or 3d wire frame geometry?

But you can use the SilhouetteBoundary.dll chook and it will give you projected 2d wifeframe that you can then use to next with. What I would suggest is creating a 4 point matrix on each shape. Now use that to move the 3d models and surface models to the nested location if you want to. Verisurf has the ability to create slices of STL's. One of our customers took a 6' statue and sliced it using our tool in Reverse and then was able to nest all of slices and cut everything on a router.

You can nest the toolpaths that are generated from the 3d geometry or surfaces but not solids.

To nesting 3d geometry... create a 2d boundary around the objects, add this boundary as a part in geometry nesting then use the "attach" function (part page right click) to attach the 3d geometry.
