Custom tool , Need help .

Hi,

Confused , please help . Created custom chamfer mill .

Smallest dia 0.625 inch . Than scaled with coefficient 1 : 0.625 =1.6

Called this tool.

Checked on verify and simulated on back plot- looks good .

Start cut , result is much different.

What did I do wrong ?

When i trying to make undefined tool ,MC not let me use it as chamfering tool.

I am trying to cut chamfers on side o-ring groove .

Yep, that's correct. I create many custom tools for chamfering but I use the contour tool path and figure out the position from a 2D cross section drawing.

 

It's lame, but it works. I love the chamfering path in MC, I just wish it was more complete.

That is how I do my chamfer toolpaths
