Surface Finish Parallel

This has got to be something simple. I am cutting the top of a block using surface finish parallel and I have never had any issues with this till now. How do I get my tool to change directions from conventional to climb mill? I usually just change my machining angle 180 and it changes no problem. Now no matter what I try it keeps cutting from the same direction. I only have one corner that I can start from. Could it be features that I am going around causing this problem? I have got my tool set to cut one way, maybe I should set it to zigzag and forget about it. banghead.gif

There have been times I've had to move the approx start point quite a ways away from where the tool is going to actually start to get it to start where I want. There have also been times the approx start point needed to be almost exactly where the tool is to start.

When using a WCS it can be even more of a hit and miss until you get it right type deal.

Try moving your approx start point way away from but in the general direction of the start point.
