CANNOT PUT FILE IN FTP

HI guys, i have searched for this and i couldnt find another thread, so forgive my ignorance if i somehow missed it but i have a problem putting a file in the ftp using both internet explorer and firefox. i am needing help trying to fillet something and i thought the file itself would speak volumes as opposed to trying to discribe it but i cant seem to put the file on the ftp. In firefox it will only let me save the file to my desktop as if i was trying to download it not upload it, and in IE it keeps asking me for my password even though i have already put it in. thanks in advance for the help.

Funny thing, I have never been able to access the FTP thing until this a.m. I just had a local computer shop do a full re-load of Windows XP after getting a nasty virus that destroyed files. I must have got something in the past...

I was trying to put some stuff up the other day using that login, and I could connect and DL but not UL.

Can someone help me to put a file on the ftp site.

I am using Firefox. When I try to drag and drop the file in the folder that I want it to be in, I get the file trying to open the zip file.

 

I have tried Filezilla with no luck.

What am I doing wrong.

I used to up load files quite often on to the ftp site. In the past I would use Filezilla to up load them. I tried using it today but it wouldn't let me up load the file, although I was connect to the site. Is it still ok to use filezilla to upload files.

 

I also tried the drag and drop method as suggested in the insurrection's at the top of the page. When I would try to drop the file on the folder in the ftp site. My computer would automatically try to open the file instead of dropping it on to the ftp site. Don't know what I am doing wrong. But it just doesn't work for me. I might have some setting set wrong on me browser???

Matt if you can download you should be able to upload please try a sample again and let me know.

Jay, for best results I have always opened the FTP in IE, then clicked on 'Page' and at the bottom is 'Open FTP site in Windows Explorer'. Now you can upload or download easily.

I can download from the FTP but I've never been able to upload to the FTP. I've used all browsers and Filezilla. I have given up.
