Hi,

This 4 axis make me crazy.

Need to machine two slots on cylinder.

From A0 this slot located on angle on -215.4 deg .

My WCS – Top X0 Y0 Z0

t/c plane -215.4 deg X0 Y0 Z0

G code output look like WCS /t/c is -215.4 deg

What am I doing wrong?

Post is Generic "Haas 4 axis"

I am using axis substitution mode.

#Axis substitution:

# Use the Rotary axis substitution by drawing the geometry flattened

# from the cylinder. The rotary axis button must be active for axis

# substitution information to be output to the NCI file. The radius of

# the rotary diameter is added to all the Z positions at output.

Your T/C plane should be Top/Top

Damn, I stumbled in here on a Saturday, first time in a while

JP hi,

Thank you for response . I made T/c plane TOP.

Look better now .

I have very small experience on 4 ax in Mastercam. We not using it at work , so sorry if my questions look stupid to you .

All my knowledge of programming on 4 ax is from mastrecam tutorial book .

So look like If I going positional , I have to change T/C plane , but if I going to use substitution t/c plane stay TOP always ?

1 If it make different “rotation direction” for location of machined pattern if no what is the rule ?

2 Why i suppose to flattened pattern and can’t use 3D geometry ?

3 How quickly to verify if position of rotation is right ? only by G code ? Looks like Mastercam verification not always give me right picture (i understand why )

4 To use 5 ax swarf i need to have 5 ax machine or 4 axis is enough ?
