autosave

is there a way of making sure my autosave window displays up front, i noticed if i have chain window open or paramter window the autosave pops up but is hidden behind the other window, then when you go to select something nothing happens because the autosave window is waiting for a reply, but you don't know that because you can't see the window.

 

am it me?

Turn off "Prompt before saving file" seems like a simple solution.

I have a habit of constantly saving manually after each op.

autosave??- you are asking about trouble,

use backup file and forget autosave

I've used Autosave religiously for years. No issues at all. NONE!

Use both. Auto with prompt off for short term crashes, just continually over writing the same file, "mybackup.mcx". Then 5 rolling backups for serious errors or file corruption.

All my pcs (11 of them) are set like this:

* autosave active - 15 minute interval

* do not prompt * do not save to active filename

all have autosave active, 15 minute interval,

do not prompt, do not save to active filename,

save to c:mcamxmcxautosave.mcx

 

backup is also active with a 3 file limit

 

so what happens is every 15 minutes autosave.mcx gets refreshed and so does the next incremental backup, be it [email protected], [email protected], or [email protected] a fourth redundant copy is the active file when a user executes a save
