Can you import geometry from one level only from another .MCX file?

If you use file/save/some you can save only certain entities then merge them. There might be a faster way.

Here's a better way. Open two session of mastercam. One that has the geometry you want to merge and one that is the file you want to merge it into. Select the goemetry to merge then edit/copy. Then pull up your other session and select edit paste. You can copy and paste from one MCX file to another.

I wouldn't do it with 2 sessions open at once. Just open the file with the geo you wanna copy, copy it, then file open, the file you wanna paste it to, then paste.

Have you had trouble having 2 sessions open at one time? I personally haven't had trouble since X3, but I know some still crash with two open.

I know you get the warning when you open an additional session of mastercam. I do it all the time and haven't had a problem yet. Sometimes I have up to 4 sessions opened at a time. I'm not sure if the copy paste method works unless 2 sessions are opened at the same time.

I've never had an issue with running multiple sessions and have been doing it since V9.

4 is common for me, one for each machine I've got running out on the floor and one for the next job going into one of those machines....

cool trick, I have being running multiple sessions since V8 and never tried copy and paste entities from one file to another.

 

The only issue, I tryed to copy from file A level 5 and paste to file B level 10 and found that the entities will be pasted onto the file B at the same level they were copyed from i.e. onto level 5 of the file B.
