How do I verify pre-written gcode with MC

Im taking a CNC class and Our college has MC. Is there a way to import hand written code into MC? and verify it in 3d?

Scan it into text via a scanner using OCR (optical character recognition) software. Reverse post it into an NCI format text file in Mastercam. Import the NCI text file into a 'merged operation' from the operation manager in Mastercam. Run verify.

 

Your reverse post better be up to snuff or you'll probably lose a lot in the transition.

learnmesome MC does not have Gcode varify built in only NCI.

 

You can try from a older version the Rev post.

This good for standard code like funac.

like how old? They have v8 I think.

 

Can you reccomend anything to verify gcode in 3d?

 

Maxo and the graphical display on the HAAS is the only thing we have to work with.

learnmesome, try what dogfartz suggested or you can try Predator Vcnc verification software.

 

You can even to like center of tool back plot with the Predator editor.

CIMCO editor also has backplotting capabilities and is available for a free demo 30 trial; click the link at the bottom of the forum pages

Also look up ExtremeDNC on the web. They verify g-code. They also have a really nice editor.

You can upgrade the CIMCO Edit OEM version included with Mastercam to the Professional version that features a 3D wireframe backplot.

This is straight out of V9 help file:

 

Should you choose to use reverse posting, follow these steps:

 

1. Choose Main Menu, NC utils, Post proc, Change.

 

2. Select a reverse post processor and choose Open.

 

3. Choose Reverse. The Specify File Name to Read dialog box opens.

 

4. Select an NC file to reverse-process and choose OK. The Specify File Name to Write dialog box opens.

 

5. Select or enter an NCI file name to write and choose OK.
