Importing operations problem

I am trying to import operations from am existing MC9 file. I would like it to bring in all the Group headers with the operations, so when it prompts me for that, I click yes, but it does not bring them in. I had it happen on another file just a bit ago, and after a few trys of doing the same thing over and over, it finally brought the groups in. This last file I have done it about 8-10 times and it still has not worked. So much for speeding up the process, huh? Anyone encouter this, and if so what is there to do about it other then put it on the wish list for V10....

The other programmer here has also had this problem.

I thought about it, and I COULD save the ops from the original file off into a library, but the problem I have run into with that is that the ops saved to the library fall into some screwed up order in the library, so I have to go in and set them to the order I want them to appear before I bring them into my new file, or re-order them in the new file after I bring them in. That kinda sucks. I already did all that work. Oh well. Problems both ways, import or library...

I didn't know you could import ops from an existing MC9 file. I've always saved them to the library and then brought them in from there. Although, I have experienced the problem of them changing order and having to reorder them.

I've also had problems changing the order of my ops. I select "move after" and instead it will move it before the op that is before the one that I have highlighted. This really ticks me off! mad.gif

How do you import directly from another MC9 file?

Gentlemen, Just save file1(finished) as file2_temp.mc9, delete all your geometry and merge/import the real file2 into it. Then re-save or whatever. This method not only keeps your pgm in order but also keeps all your levels in order too. Use only when applied, for the smart-@sses out there.

Have you tried dragging and dropping your ops? It's less clicks.

Jim,

Actually, on that part of my post, I was referring to changing the order by going into the ops library. When you drag an op and release, you get the option to copy/move before/after. That's where I had the problem. I'm always looking to save a few mouse clicks. smile.gif
