Problems getting X5 to Work on Windows 7 64bit.

I could not get X5 to load on my home computer. It is a Win 7 64bit pro and every time I clicked on the Icon or tried to run it from the program files even as administrator it would not run. I did a repair and I did a reinstall. The last thing I thought of was an old school erase the user registry keys for X5. Once I did that everything was good. Just thought I would share encase someone else runs into the same thing.

For folks who are reluctant to manually edit their registry, CCleaner does a good job of this

As a beta tester I run it on a regular basis when uninstalling/installing beta versions.

Thanks Tom, I think it was a Beta Version that might have given me the trouble. I did forget to check and see if the registry was clean before installing.

I am not seeing the free part . I have never cleaned my registry, not once. So I am thinking I should. Have you guys had problems when doing this?

CCleaner is a good product..

It used to jack up my SolidWorks ToolBox, but its been years since it did that

I use it regularly for temp files. Used it one time to clean the REG in XP and it hosed my system. Can't say it often enough, back it up.
