X5 config/files will not stick

So I created a simple file and saved it (default t.mcx-5)

I then opened mc and change the paths settings again.

Closed mc.

I opened the file by file/open/selected the (top)most recent file and get this

message.

I never changed the nci path so I dont know why the message notifies me of a change I did not do??

Maybe I'll call my reseller after lunch. :)

Hey Rick,

What OS are you running? My wire guy is having a similar problem but what worked for you ain't working for him.

He's done a "save as" with the default config in X5, pointed to it and it still won't work right. Were you using an old config merged into X5, or did you rename it? We've unistalled at least twice and still same shazzille :(

He's got XP 32bit OS. My Win7 64 bit has no issue.

Rickster - I've found there's a few paths in the config file that will not update even when you specifically go and change them, your toolbar is another one. If you go to customize that, change to a different toolbar file (mastercam.mtb) and hit "save" it will revert to the old one when you reopen it.

The only solution I have found was to edit the mcamx.config file (it's a text file) and change the path to wherever you want.

I had the same problem and working with my reseller, this is what he found:

G:\,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,this worked

G:\manufacting,,,,,,,,,,,,this worked

G:\manufacting\cadfiles,,,this did not work!!!

He didnt know why it didnt work,so he reported it to CNC Software.

The version I was using was a download from the Mastercam website,I uninstalled the web download and reinstalled using the DVD and now it works fine.
