multiple offsets to one....

Hi everyone,

I am running the attatched file using X5 MU1 mill lvl 3. Right now it works but could be better. I would like everything to run off of one offset, instead of the 21 it currently is. Is this possible? I tried a few different ways under the planes is here something else?

You could use multiaxis drill, using points/lines. You'll have to create a line on the axis of every hole though.

i'll give it a shot. creating lines isnt as bad as machinist whining!!!

You won't have to create lines if you download & install the Verisurf hole axis utility. Just remember that for the drill multiaxis toolpath using points and lines the vector must terminate at the point and all the vectors need to point back toward the spindle.

I have done quite a few successful multiaxis drilling ops using Verisurf hole axis. It simply doesn't get any easier.

Once you get it you will find it easier than the way you currently do it.

I think you downloaded the wrong file..

 

The Verisurf tools add-on is free and requires no access code

Just download the file, close Mcam and double click the file to install it. When you open Mcam the Verisurf hole axis utility will be part of the drop downs.

ya, apparently i dont have multi axis and am not planning to buy it. seems like if i have the center of the radius i am trying to cut as my origin i will be able to cut these holes withot multi-axis and all in one offset. I am off to the machine. if it works i will post in detail.

If you are using MPMaster post you could enable "lock on 1st WCS" will force only 1st offset.

Change your work offset to anything other than -1

If offset is left at -1, it will "Auto Increment" on rotations.

 

Correct ??

 

Or you can use a post that has been modified to override this feature.
