I agree with you on the PC controlers, James, We have several intellitek Prolights and they are the only machine i've ever seen that adds blocks, removes blocks, skips blocks, randomly toggles between absolute and incremental, et cettera. These things are a trap, sure it may cost less, but how myuch is reliability worth, see my point? mad.gif

Not to defend or start something , but I ran a Roeders high speed milling machine for over 5 years and they are by far the best I have ever run.. I have run Makinos , Bostomatic , Fadals , Haas and many others , and no one can come close to what the Roeders can do.. It has a 42,000 RPM spindle , 2,400 IPM rapid feed rates , Laser toolong probe , and pretty much every other bell and whistle you can think of.. They are even trying to put Micro welders on them.. You can easily rough graphite out at 900 to 1000 IPM and finish anywhere between two to five hundred acuratly.. In steel , you are limited to what the cutter can do , but with 42,000 RPMs it helps.. As far a it being PC based , I think in the 5 years I ran them , I may have locked up 2 or 3 times.. Its a very stable machine.. They are mainly placed in the midwest and by far are the top selling high speed milling machine.. If you ever get a chance to look at one , do so. I think most people would agree its a damn good machine..

Again , this is not to defend or start garbage ,I just noticed on the last thread, not many people heard of the machine..

How's your guys' power out there? We've had more brownouts in the last 2 years than in the past 25 combined. Our PC based machines, the second the power droops BAM, reboot (takes 5 minutes literally too), etc... The Mori's (Fanuc Control) don't even hiccup. Which is great.

Not to start anything either. biggrin.gif
