Import all machine groups and tool paths

sorry for the late reply we just finished our company pot luck lunch!

Ron, i have a mold file with 14 components(machine groups) and 1 tool path group(per machine group).

That is how I structure my ops manager for each new mold.

So I completely designed a mold and all its components, that has the exact same # of

components(corebase cavity 2slides and 10 inserts) as a previous job

I want to import or (transfer) all those mach groups and their tool groups

to this new file, rather then creating all the mach groups and importing the toolpaths

groups one at a time.

Basically take the ops manager from one file and place it in another file.

Is that possible?

Cheers

Rick

I am a bit surprised to hear that people design an entire mold and base in 1 single file. When I program a mold each component has its own individual file. I have had too many files get corrupted to risk putting everything in one file. Using individual files makes it easy for importing tool paths from old parts into new files.

Just my $.02

We don't put any toolpaths on the main mold design here.

Files would get to big.

Everything is broken into folders.........A side basework...........B side basework...........electrodes..........slides..........A Inserts ....B Inserts...........ect.

Only grab details / layers you need to program.

Easy to merge something in if a change is made to the mold design.......or an error is found.........or you forget a layer that you needed......
