Lathe Live Tooling Mastercam Post

Hi all, i had a question that maybe someone could answer. My company recently purchased a Haas Lathe with live tooling. I have messed around with it a bit but i have not sent out any programs yet. Now i was told by the installer and by mastercam support that i would need a "new" post for the lathe, i could not use the "generic" post because it would not support the live tooling function. I personally do not care wich post that i use, but mastercam is charging us $xxxx for the post. My boss is ok with that but he wanted me to look around for another vendor for price comparisons. So finally to my question..anybody have any ideas as to where else i could look? Seems to me its a mastercam post, so mastercam is where we get it from but my boss insists that someone else should be selling these post..any help would be appriciated, thank you in advance!

Your reseller has the Hass posts for the 4th axis lathe. I asked a while back and they are working posts for what you need.

As to cost, you will have to ask you reseller.

I dont know about secondary outfits that would have them, but Mastercam resellers will back you up with support.

Would you buy a Toyota part from a Fiat dealer?

 

The "reputable" 3rd party guys will only work through your reseller, so that's something to consider as well

I would buy it from your reseller as you may need or want to customize it and they will work with you.
