Haas ST10 Tooling

Recommended Posts

I have a SL-10.

All the tooling is .750 square. Holders with the machine for round tooling are 1.0" dia and 1.250 dia. That will hold a good range for collet holders with ER 20 collets.

I use a lot of .008 R tipped inserts for steel and Alum. I do a lot of prototype work here. Bigger radiuses push to hard on the small stuff.

YOur ST is stronger then the SL turrent wise. It will handle bumps much better, although I've never crashed this machine to find out.

From chuck to tailstock, max length is 12.00" turning. You have to turn down the saftey zone that protects the tailstock to do that.

Look into a Royal Collet chuck for 3J collets. It will grip tighter for the heaver cuts.

I also have the Bar feeder. Major Plus for this machine. Easy to setup and no issues. Program the job and walk away.

Wait for a sale at MSC. Those 30% off sales really add up after a while.

IMO MSC has priced themselves right out of the market. I only get about 100 bucks a year worth of stuff from them, usually an extreme emergency where price doesn't matter.

I used to get all my stuff through McMaster Carr, prices are way better than MSC.
