Anyone have a contact person for stand-alone version of NCI2APT.

Is there other solutions available now to convert NCI to APT, was thinking perhaps ICAM might have this capability.

A little off topic, but I have a question, do these people that make these converters also keep them up to date? As changes are made in the NCI?

How often does CNC Software change the NCI, for every major release?

Yes, the NCI2APT Chook gets updated to run with every version.

 

NCI changes happen, but rarely. Most of the time we are adding extra information like tool or operation settings. The motion NCI codes haven't changed in a long time, by design. This ensures that your old Mastercam programs output just the same in the newer versions of Mastercam as they did when they were first written. Most of the changes from version to version are to the parameter values that are written to the memory map. (non-NCI)

 

That said, a Chook must be compiled to run with a specific version of Mastercam.
