Manual Cmm Upgrade

We have an older Brown & Sharp manual cmm that we would like to upgrade the software on. It has a MH20i indexing probe head and the machine is still very accurate. In the future we would like to get a cnc cmm, but we want to keep this manual machine for simple part inspection. We are looking for a cost effective upgrade that will make this machine more friendly to use. If anyone has done this, your input would be greatly appreciated.

QCT software - very intuitive and simple to use. We have a 343 manual cmm converted and we can check direct to cad etc as well.

They have a re-fitter in the states but are UK based, which may be a problem to you?

We upgraded a Shefield Cordax Manual CMM with CMM Manager and have been pretty happy with it.

I cant begin to tell you how happy we are with it.

 

Plus they let us upgrade the manual seat we bought in 06 to dcc for the difference.So in your situation that maybe something to think about.

Well if you are Mastercam House the ability to work with your Mastercam files the huge advantage Verisurf gives you. Best fitting and other things are awesome, then reporting is very easy and the basics like standard measurements of features is top notch. Thing is you know Mastercam then you already know the interface for Verisurf. Everything is inside of the operation manager and then you can do operational checks and many other thing seamlessly whereas with other software's you would need to import and export files with Verisurf working inside Mastercam once system one process and ease of use it part of the process.

The thing is.

We looked into it. For the exact reasons you mention.

But

Our Mastercam reseller was luke-warm on Verisurf,at best.

I dont know if it was our application or his comfort level or something else.

Talked to Terry at Verisurf today and he was very honest and helpful, no hard sell. Understood where we were coming from and suggested different solutions and directions that we might take. I have a bunch to learn.
