I want to uninstall X7 ("COMPLETELY") registry files and everything completely whip my computer clean and install it (NOT) the way Mastercam told me to initally. I want to do it the correct way. Any help would be great. Which files in The reg I need to delete. Please advise. I will give it another try... I have tried deleting the config files and all that Jazz!! Please I just want to start over!

Thanks

Your dealer should be able to point you in the right direction. Do a search of the registry and go from there. Make sure the My Documents and Public Documents is cleaned out. Shut the computer completely down before installing it again.

If I really want to start fresh with any program can I recommend a new hard drive. Install Windows 7 and go to town. Make sure you have all the codes and drivers for your other programs and Hardware. Then you can do a dual boot or tri boot or as many boot method you want with different hard drives. Now you start fresh with the different drives on your computer. Email is easy to port over and many other things, just a matter of having a place all the drives can look to.

Open Windows Control Panel, Programs and Features.

Right click on Mastercam X7 and select Uninstall.

Deleted the following folders:

C:\Program Files\Mcamx7

C:\Users\Documents\my mcamx7

C:\Users\Public\Documents\shared mcamx7

Deleted the following registry entries:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\CNC Software, Inc.\Mastercam X7

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\CNC Software, Inc.\Mastercam X7

it seems strange that MCX would open successfully with a parameter (The double clicked filename) and unsuccessfully without one.. before you do the whole uninstall thing, can you verify that clicking on the MasterCam.exe file itself in your %installdir% also crashes ? if it doesnt, it might just be a bad shortcut .
