Hi everyone

 

New to forum. I am looking for suggestions on HMC .We have 5 haas vmcs .

Looking to HMC but not happy with haas or thier prices.Would like to have full 4th a.

If you don't like a Haas price, you'll hate a Matsuura or Makino price. That's new of course.

I'd look at a couple of years old repo where someone else has had the hit.

5 pallet 405 matsuura will do most things with a 15k spindle and 240 tools.

We have been really happy w/ Makino. An A51 well equipped is $370K.

Just get the biggest tool changer you can. I didn't know anything about horizontals when we purchased our Haas EC-1600, and only got the standard 30 tools. You can never have too many.

One of the biggest mistakes I see everyone one make is a small toolchanger. 500 tools would not be enough in a production environment.

 

Just worked on a brand new NHX-4000 pallet changer. 120 tools, Probe, and tool setter, 12k Spindle CAT 40. Is was $500k on the floor.

Seen a brand new one on the floor at one of my customers with a 8 station pallet changer. Will be running lights out and they already have changed their whole business model thanks to adding this new machine.

We are quite happy w/ our Mazak HCN4000's.

 

They were priced just slightly higher than the Haas 400mm, but they are much faster than the Haas, or the Tsugami 300mm.
