Making a stl a solid?

Hum not easily done IMHO. I make my own solids per operations, yes more work, but I get something I know I can work with.

STL by its very nature is not exact so getting geometric features quickly and easily is all reverse engineering software's challenge. Though I understand Spcaeclaim is supposed to do a very good job it.

Verisurf is a great Reverse add-on but since the STL's out of Verify need to eb a certain way they make getting a solid from it a challenge. It can be done, but is some work.

An addendum to Mike's idea, if you build it into a Stock Model, then your can convert that stock model into a Poly-Mesh that you can manipulate (move, scale, etc). Create that stock model and then right click on it, go to Mill Toolpaths > Stock Model Convert to Pmesh...

That is so awesome! I guess I should read documentation more because I never knew about that capability. I'm happy I know about it and mad that I didn't know about it earlier

Anyone notice that the stock models are not accurate. They are different then the stl created by verify.

Haven't seen that. There is a tolerance setting. I keep them both at .001 unless it's something really big and my file compare's to the model right on.
