Remote Desktop

Has anyone been successful running Mastercam with remote desktop. I am running Mastercam on Win XP Pro in my office, and using a remote computer with Win 98 on the shop floor to access my office computer through the network. Everything works fine except for Mastercam. It will not redraw the screen.

 

Does anyone have a fix for this?

The only remote control software that I've seen that can handle Mastercam's screen refreshes is pcAnywhere; even shaded geometry. I'd like to play with TightVNC some more to see if I can get it to produce the same results.

If I understand this correct it will allow you to see files from another computer on the netwrok. I use to do this with Netmeeting wit ha web cam also to see the Machine running at home as well as the CNC screen on the Thremwood rotuer we had cuase it used a 2000nt computer as the controller. If these will do this then I can put up a pick on the DNc computers in the Shop and aloow the operator to see a pic of the actully screen shoot. That would good for soem of the complex stuff we do.

Do you have success running Mastercam through Remotelyanywhere?

 

It is the only program I have problems with. I can run Cadkey OK, but rotating shaded parts in Mastercam shows the axis markers moving but I see no part movement.

If you go to Screen|Configure, select the Screen tab, and turn off Use OpenGL, you'll have more luck with your remote sessions.

Tried turning off open-GL. No Luck, and now I can't turn open -GL back on. Mastercam has ghosted the button.

 

Any suggestions?

i think before you open your config file you have to have the shading turned off in order to make the check box useable.
