Toolpath for 3D printer

You could do a pocket toolpath for each layer., but it would be a ton of work separating each layer into slices. Verisurf has a very cool slice function, but you would need to convert the model to STL. Then you could use the API stuff already developed in Mastercam to automate the process. Surface Rough Pocket would do this as well. Would need to make the internal cavity of the part the area the toolpath needs to cut. Then decide the needed step over for the laser and then the depth of cut would be your slices or layer for the 3d Printing. Put up a part you would like to 3D print and I will see what I can throw on it to give you an idea how to go about this.

I am the robotics teacher at John Paul Catholic School. We use Mastercam 2017 design to make solid figures and parts. We then save them as an STL file. The STL file is loaded into CURA. Cura is a free slicer that you can down load on the internet.  It will generate the G-Code for you 3D printer. We use Cura version 15 as the graphics worked better on a PC. There is a later version that works good on a MAC, but  you can't move it around with the arrow keys and sometimes that's a problem. Good luck/
