X9 Sweet! Not!

Hello all,

 

Ok, so I was liking X9 until I tried to use a Core or Dynamic Core toolpath.  WTF!  

it used to be chain two boundaries and go.  I can't figure out how the hell to make it work. 

The toolpath I create cuts out the core. 

 

What is required to make Dynamic Mill work like the old Core?

You might be more advance than this, but download the Mastercam X9 Tutorials for dynamic milling they are very good.

To get the tpath to cut from the outside you need to set the bias for the machining region.

The core & area mill tpaths have been combined into one, "Dynamic Mill"

I like having the new options in the 2d opti tool paths.  It takes a few minutes to get used to them.

Also, if you guys haven't tried it yet - Define your stock in your Operations Manager, and then just set your 2d Dynamic toolpath to "from outside," and only define an Avoidance Region. No need to define a Machining Region at all, it'll figure it out from your stock.
