Projecting 2d toolpath onto surface

I have to engrave some simple words onto a cylinder(on X5) but its not doing it, and I cant figure out why.  Any help?  Its probably something simple that im overlooking.

Easiest way to engrave letters on a simple cylinder is to draw the letters flat, toolpath them, and then use axis substitution in your toolpath parameters. Alternatively, you can use XFORM > Roll... to transform it into a cylinder.

Probably... but unless you want us to guess for the next 3 months I would suggest you giving us a little more information about your problem.

Are doing this on a 4th or say holding in vise.

 

if on a 4th you could use Cathedral's way.

 

If not on a 4th then you may want surface project. create the letters above and when asked what to project as a path use curves and window your letters.

I've had issues with project not working that were fixed by rebooting the computer.

Not on a 4th axis, just on the vise. Im using Surface rough project.

OOPS!! I realized that theres also  Surface Finish Project and that did the trick .  Sometimes Ill ask a question and it helps with jogging my head...Thanks guys!
