Drafting Entity Contains Forward Pointer - Error?

I tried to open a drawing (MC8 converted from a DXF) and I got the error "Warning - Drafting Entity Contains Forward Pointer - Associativity Removed". Does anyone know what this means?

I think it is not-critical message and I saw it a lot .

My humble expanation of this case :

Try to build dimension from sketch to sketch .

In the Mastercam help U can find info that if the

drafting entities were crearted from screen points they will be not associated .

Mastercam build in database dimension entity not associated with anithing .

Well after moving ,rotating ,scaling ,mirroring or other Xform-ation of Ur drawing this dimension will not be regenerated !

That`s all ,I get this from time to time and

when I see this message I not pay attention to it

if I am not Xforming my model .

If u will not Xform Ur model IMHO it`s not matters U much .

If U really need to update this dimension as a workaround use

Modify->break>draft/line to break it to lines and to recreate it once more.

Does anyone know how to turn this off? I batch 50 to 100 files out and sometimes I have to sit there and hit enter for all the files to clear the FORWARD POINTER ERROR

We just balance the stapler on the Enter key until the file is done.

i was using a 1-2-3 block. now i can send it back to the shop.

Make sure to re-calibrate it first

Not for forward pointers but converting bad files I use the tape dispenser. (I'ts weighted.)

Thats weird you guys... you are suppose to use your mouse to get rid of that error.

 

What I do is, push in my keyboard shelf then wedge my mouse between the desk and the enter key ... it works prety good!

I'm a simple man. I have a box of busted tools next to my desk. The 1" dia. shank even fits the contour of the enter key

Word on the street is that the next maintenance release will include a custom made weight that fits over the "enter" key, included in the CD envelope...

I think it is a drafting note that has its associated entity deleted and is removing the association.

I did a drawing a

few days ago and went to re-open the drawing and had warning-drafting entity contains no forward pointer- associativity removed. click on ok and I loose most of my geometry.
