X9 installation error

I have Mastercam 2017 installed- up and running. I wasn’t quite ready to uninstall X9 yet but the other day when I tried to open it I keep getting an error message (don’t remember the message now). After numerous attempts I gave up and decided to reinstall X9. Now when I try to install it I get this error message.

Setup.exe: Cannot load

C:\Users\Tech\AppData\Local\Temp\RarSFX0\support\resources\\DvdSetupRes.dll

I downloaded a new file from Mastercam and still keep getting this message. What is messed up on my end that it won’t install?

Finally had time try the Mastercam Knowledge base info That G posted. It worked like a charm. Got rid of what was keeping X9 from installing. I have it up and running, now as my back up to MC 2017 until i know my way around in it.

Thanks gcode for the help

I have the problem with

I read the pdf and I can't find the install log file. I found the repair and the uninstall files, I copied the GUID, and and I tried to find it in the registry editor.

I didn't find it, what now?

What did your dealer say when you called them? Do you have full admin rights? Do you have an IT department?

Hello, I apologize for my English and to have updated this thread,

after uninstalling mastercam x9, I'm going to reinstall it and I get the following error:

  Setup.exe: Can not load

D / software / Mastercam_X9_v18.0.11898.0_Eng_Win64 / support / resource

s // DvdSetupRes.dll

The method described in the PDF does not work, also because in the system registry

can not find the GUID.

Thanks for any answers.

I just restore my computer to a different restore point from last week and it works fine.

Hey welcome to the forum FNguyen3! I see its your first post so just wanted to say hello. Glad you got the problem fixed, there very likely was easier solutions to the problem you were having but if that worked for you that is good news. If you run into major issues in the future though you can also always reach out to your local reseller as well for tech support if you don't want to go through a complete system restore. For me a system restore is always like the last thing I would want to do with any of the pc's I use but I understand everyone's different.
