operations groups

Is there a way to seperate tools from different operations groups. I'm going to run 5 seperate groups with 4 different sets of tools and it gets confusing seeing four sets of the same tool number.

dont think so, if your using the same tool in diferent groups shouldnt matter, minimize the groups your not working in. use the set as active group to stay working in thr one you want

I too find this an annoyance. There nay be some level of segregation if you use different tool libraries for each group. ( i gotta try that)

Sounds like u are adding tools sequentially.Can you make tool 1 in op group 2 number 5?.Why do they have to be numbered 1,2,3,4 so on in each group?

The parts are going to three different machines. It's just easier on the operators to start at tool 1.

Since they are in different machines can you just give each op group a different program number and / or a different NCI destination then post accordingly?

If you have different machines ,just change your post ,that`s all .

In your post you can tweak it so ,that if your speed and feed bigger ,than maximum for this machine ,have them a bit less than maximum .

Or change feed and speed for every group ,

save them to the differnt NCI names so that even if you wish ,the posting will make different separate programs.

But just no need for three separate T1 tools and so on .

Take also to account ,that in Mastercam 9 changing tool settings like speed and feed you are not loosing assosiativity ,it means you will not need to make regen ,if you `ll change maximum speed and feed here and there .

Yes all the tools will still show up but if it is the same tool number for each operation just different speeds and feeds it does not matter if you are going to post out to 3 different machines. I would use material none I would then use my own speeds and feeds for eash operation for each part and go from there. I may program a part to run on one machien but then just repsot it to run on the other 2 and never have any problems.

I would have a different nci name for each group.Select group and post with post required.

 

Tip when in operation manager do a Alt e keep pressing until you get what format suits you at the time.

I'm running four different parts (3 pieces of a fixture I'm building one operation each, and two groups of the production part (two pallets, I can use the same tools on this segment).
