Please help. I am creating a surface HST-Scallop. How can I adjust the plunge feed above the surface, rather then the tool plunge into the pocket and then start?

Sorry no X9 here, but have you defined a stock? Picked a appx start point in a safe place? Your plunge feed is adjusted on the Tool Page.

Thank you. Sorry, I know how adjust the feed rate for plunging. My question was, how do I make it feed into the pockets? Working step by step into the pockets, rather then just plunge down.

Attach your Mastercam file and someone will help you.

Look at:

Linking Parameters > Leads > Linear Entry/Exit (Incremental). Try setting that to .500

Next, set the Vertical Arc Entry to .25, and the Exit to .05.

See if that helps with what you are doing.

By the way, HST Scallop is a "Finishing" path. Unless you are cutting Wood, your best bet would be to use a true "Roughing" path, leaving .03-.100 on the surfaces, then come back in with the HST Scallop...
