Look at:

Linking Parameters > Leads > Linear Entry/Exit (Incremental). Try setting that to .500

Next, set the Vertical Arc Entry to .25, and the Exit to .05.

See if that helps with what you are doing.

By the way, HST Scallop is a "Finishing" path. Unless you are cutting Wood, your best bet would be to use a true "Roughing" path, leaving .03-.100 on the surfaces, then come back in with the HST Scallop...
