try pulling your workspace file out of the config folder

"C:\Users\*** your username here ***\Documents\my mcam2018\CONFIG\Mastercam.Workspace"

then launch MC2018.. MC will write a new default workspace file

If it launches OK, try putting your file back...

you would think this would break it again, but it's worked for me in the past

also try this with your config file

It can be downloaded from this site if you  have purchased any training material...otherwise, you may want to contact your local reseller, they may be willing to provide a copy

2 questions... are you running Windows 10 ??

The Far Creator's update really hosed a lot of MC 2018 installs

What does the Mastercam log say when MC2018 fails to launch

A couple of things I would try

I'm assuming you are running some flavor of NVIDIA video card

If so roll the drivers back to something from early 2017

Nvidia Driver Page

and

Make sure your share folder exists

Make sure you have access to it

Make sure it is really  the Share Folder for MC2018 and didn't get overwritten some how when you installed 2019

"C:\Users\Public\Documents\shared mcam2018"

If your are not sure of any of the above

SAVE YOUR CUSTOM POSTS  out of this folder

Uninstall MC2018,

delete "C:\Users\Public\Documents\shared mcam2018"

delete  "C:\Program Files\Mcam2018"

and reinstall

I think it's providence telling you to move on to 2019 :)

Seriously ,  2019 is excellent compared to 2018 when it comes to stability.  That is of course coming from somebody who has '17 , '18  and '19  all working . Only Moldplus is missing from 2019.

And now some useful advice :  you should also  delete the mcamx.config and mcamxm.config files. Mastercam will recreate them at launch . ( gcode already mentioned deleting the .WORKSPACE file).

Uninstall mastercam then Delete

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\CNC Software, Inc.\Mastercam 2019

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\CNC Software, Inc.\Mastercam 2018

The one thing that has always bugged me about Mastercam's uninstall process. It is never a clean uninstall. A user is almost better making a ISO image of the system before ever installing any software. Then once they need to reinstall any software they wipe and reload the ISO image of the drive then install the software they need to update or reinstall.
