Does making stock models using previous stock models as stock increase calculation time?

I made one from my first Opti rough.

Call it op2-1

Then made another to use as stock for another optorough and used the stock model 2-1 as the stock.

It seemed to take forever. So I used the job setup as stock and it seemed to get it done, but still took about 5 to 10 minutes.

The tolerance was set to .005 for the 3 serrings

Yeah, stock model needs some tlc imo.  I find it much faster to save stl out of verify but then you end up with the hollow stock models and have to fix them.  It's not so bad with drill/end mill but feed mills make terrible stock models.  It's either that or wait and wait for it to calculate.  I don't know why verify is so much faster.  They need to use the verify engine for the stock model computation.

I use stl as job setup stock usually. I think 5 axis meant to post in this thread, but my containments boundary was too small.

He recommended it should be 3x tool size. Mine was originally stock size.

After I shifted it about an inch the stock model processing time is about 2 min instead of 6.

I also up my tolerance to .01 for initial stock tool corner and stock model tolerance
