Hi James, Does turning surfaces to solid cause size reduction in database? Also does it cause reduction in calculation time? I thought machining a solid require more time thgan surfaces. Thanks [ 06-13-2002, 10:59 PM: Message edited by: kwolf ]

Hi, I use V8.11 Level 3 with solid and 90% of what I machine is from SolidWorks' part files(It's parasolid based as Solid Edge) . And since in V8.x and lower you can not have check/drive surface simultaneuosly in a solid entity, I import them as surface. Remember in V9 you CAN HAVE check/drive surface together in a solid object. Hope it helps.

BTW , what's the best bidirectional translator between Pro/E,Catia and Parasolid? We need to buy a translator in near future. Although it's not bi-directional, but can we use mc's (v9) pro/e translator to convert complex parts from pro/e to mc? We've been told about CIMSOFTEK and CADFIX. Has anyone used their products? Also I think a VX Vision translator to parasolid is necessary.What do you recommend? Thanks in advance , Sorry for long post.

We have some problems with that(in v9). Besides C-Hook has not been updated since last summer.The installer does not install over V9. 3 weeks ago we renamed cfg files from v9 to v8 and installed it (because installer didn't accept v9 folder and still it does not). But when we started verification in V9 it generated error. Obviously because of different styles of handling data in V9.

Hi, My friend installed MC 8.11 on WinXP Pro and noticed when it's running the cpu usage is 100 percent except when opening a dialog box such as opening file or opening op manager. He didn't notice any other abnormalities. Their config is XP , GeForce 3 Ti200/500 , NVidia v28.32 driver. BTW another thread "MC Open Problem" is related to them and they can not solve the problem so far. Thanks

Hi, One of my friend has problem in opening MC8/MC9 files in V8/V9. The problem is , the list of files does not appear in open dialog box unless they use wildcard '*.*' and in this case there's no bitmap associated with files , although they check bitmap option in configuration. The only exception is some files with small letter extension ' mc8/mc9 ' . And doing a rename on files would not fix the problem. Anybody has an idea?

Hi, Try www.geforcezone.com and under tweaks section you'll find an app called NVMAX .... There are some tweaks for GF/Quadro chips useful for CAD and 'course GAMES.
