Yeah, I've had that problem too. I have only noticed it after merging a file into my mcx file.
If I merge it in and then try to turn it off or change levels it starts jumping around for some reason
Glenn,
I put a file on the ftp site
ftp site
I had to clear the toolpath to make the file small enough to upload. The .0002 stepovers made it enormous. But at least you can see my parameters.
thanks
I see the picture of beautiful leftover path on the box that version x came in. And would really like to duplicate a path like that. I use the constant z option and zigzag. But it completely ignores corners that it should mill. And often leaves stepovers that are .0001 or .0002 where it should be .003 or .005. I know this must be a difficult path because I have had problems with UG and Cimatron too. Uh oh, maybe it's me. Does anyone else have these problems.
depends on what I'm doing but sometimes I leave anywhere from .0005 to .002 on check surfaces to keep from hitting hard onto a wall or floor.
Polishers take care of it
I know mastercam is so customizable now. I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to change the descriptions in operation manager. On peckdriil I'd like to remove the "full retract" description while still showing that it is a peckdrill operation. Same thing with tapping and simple drill. I was thinking that there might be menu config file that has that text listed in it, but I can't seem to find it.
No it's not fixed. I've come across that before too. But we fixed it with work place procedures that kept more than one person from working on the same file.

Mick,
I have an Okuma with Super Hi NC with dnc-dt and it works great for us. I don't know a lot about it because our Okuma service department set it all up and I haven't had to do a thing to it. I do know that there are 3 settings in the parameters. one for less quality- more speed, one for more quality less speed, and another in between. You might want to consider calling my Okuma guys they are top notch. Hartwig inc in St Louis Mo 314-426-5300 ask for Roger, he's head of service.
I'm not crazy about the toolpath display either. when you pick a path to display, it displays all of them except for the one you just picked. then you have to select all the paths to turn them off and then turn the one path on again. (not sure if I just got that right but I do know that I never get what I want with that button)
I've been having problems with files converted from v9. The paths that were created in v9 won't post with the new paths created in X. X tries to force them into a separated NC file. I originally thought this could be a problem with having different tool planes but they show the same planes. The X paths are not locked. they will post just not in the same program as the converted v9 paths.
Any help out there?
