Hello All
I was trying to extend a surface, so that my tool would not roll off the edge of part I was machining, When I do a Surface extend,
I get.. Cannot extend trimmed edges of trimmed surfaces and when I untrim the surface the surface turns into a cylinder.
Is there any other way to extend the surface to keep the tool from rolling the edge?
Thank for your help
Well thanks guys
It's just what I thought, I know that some software you can go back to any time you saved
(Pro/e)
What happen to the file that has written over?
No history log?
I my have to get CSI on this one.. hahah
I back up everynite, It would not have helped in a cases like this, autosave yes maybe, but then again autosave can be a pain also.
I think if you use Mcam long enough, this is going to happen to you. nuff said!
Thank for your help

I have saved one one part over another by mistake
In other words now I have two parts that are the same because I saved and have lost one because I've saved.

Hello again
I'm trying to get the right cycle time.
In the operations manager if I set my feed rate to say..20 I have no problem with cycle time
But if I set it to say.. .02 ( like you would for a Mazak)(IPR)the cycle time is not right.
Is there a fix for this kind of problem?
Thanks

Hello
Then I bring a.. "say Iges part into X and rotate the part like I want it using Move NOT copy and save the part as a parasolid. Then export the part into SolidEdge, When the part opens up in SE I get Multiple parts, It looks just like when I rotated the part in Mcam I had used copy, But I did not, I used move.
I've always had this problem since X
In the past and now, I just deleted the extra copies from the model tree in SW
anyone else seeing this happen
Hello
How do you get lower case letters, when you use
Create Letters.
"Oh and please don't say" "Hold down the shift key" Unless there's a special trick to it...
Because I tried that and It didn't work.. at least on my screen.
Thanks

The Visi-Progress Die Design Demo was the BEST I've seen to date. Awesome to say the least!
Pro/e PDX seens to be a wash for now.
SW QuickPress QuickForm still in the running.
NX Progress die design still in the running also.
NX has one of my Models. waiting for the web cast.
Sending Vero one model next week.

Randy,
Yes, I did see the Web cast and it tis as you say.
I'm still hoping Pro/e Progressive Die Design will be better, I know Pro/e is better (smarter) than SW But, SW QuickPress & Quickform VS Pro/e PDX I'm not sure, and then there's NX & Visi
Its kinds like shopping for a motorcycle!
Its all about the ride and the rhythm of the software. VVVVVRoooooooommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Thanks,Dave,Gilberto,Chip and James for your responces.
We did the demo with SolidWorks QuickPress, and I must say... some pretty neat stuff! Though their surfacing maybe a little weak.
This week going to see PTC's Progressive Die Design from a Co. that uses it daily.
Thanks again Guys
